The POD Hotel in Brooklyn was the first modular hotel in New York and was constructed in VBC’s Poland facility.
With 249 living units, this 50-foot high micro hotel is the perfect example of how to use limited space efficiently. Using modular construction for this build also reduced carrying costs throughout the schedule to drive revenue sooner.
The hotel offers four different room types ranging from 110 sq ft to 300 sq ft.
The building includes shared amenities such as planted courtyard spaces, a ground floor restaurant and bar, a roof garden, and a rooftop bar.
Intelligent design is used to optimize the functionality of each room and create a sense of spaciousness.
Bathrooms are enclosed with glass dividers that visually expand the dimensions of the room, making it feel larger. Large windows are strategically placed to draw the eye outside.
Each 10 by 30 foot module delivered to the site contained two rooms and a corridor.
